Question Discussion & Solution

The correct answer is Chambal River.

• Kota is situated on the bank of the Chambal River.

Key Points

Important cites on the riverbank in India

The correct answer is option 4) i.e. ∞

CONCEPT:

• The time period of a pendulum is given by the equation:

\(\Rightarrow T = 2\pi\sqrt{\frac {L}{g}}\)

Where L is the length of the string of pendulum and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

EXPLANATION:

• At a height of 900 km from the earth's surface gravity is absent.

Therefore, g = 0.

Substituting g = 0,

\(\Rightarrow T = 2\pi\sqrt{\frac {L}{0}} = ∞\)

Thus, the time period of the pendulum at a distance of 900 km from the Earth will be infinite.

Battery and Engine are part of car but battery and engine are two different entity.

Therefore, above diagram best express relationship between Battery, Engine and Car.

Concept-

• DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid.
• DNA as an acidic substance present in the nucleus was first identified by Friedrich Meischer in 1869.
• He named it ‘Nuclein’.
• DNA acts as the genetic material in most organisms.
• A DNA molecule consisting of all the genetic material of an organism is known as a chromosome.
• These are thread-like (helical) structures of protein and nucleic acids which carry all the genetic information in the form of genes.

Explanation-

• Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a nucleic acid and is therefore made up of nucleotide.
• Each nucleotide consists of a phosphate group, a nitrogenous base (A, T, G, C), and ribose sugar (deoxyribose in case of DNA).
• A nucleoside contains only pentose sugar and a nitrogenous base.
• Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) are the two types of nucleic acids found in living systems.
• DNA is a long polymer of deoxyribonucleotides.
• The length of DNA is usually defined as the number of nucleotides (or a pair of nucleotides referred to as base pairs) present in it.

Thereby DNA is composed only of nucleic acid.

Additional Information

Lipids:

• These organic compounds are nonpolar molecules, which are soluble only in nonpolar solvents and insoluble in water because water is a polar molecule.
• In the human body, these molecules can be synthesized in the liver and are found in oil, butter, whole milk, cheese, fried foods, and also in some red meats.

Proteins:

• Proteins are composed of amino acids, arranged into different groups.
• These fundamental amino acid sequences are specific and their arrangements are controlled by the DNA.
• These are the fundamental building blocks of our bodies.
• They are large and complex macromolecules or bio-molecules which perform a major role in the functioning and regulating of our body cells, tissues, and other organs in the human body.

The correct answer is Rajasthan.

Key Points

• Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987 is a law enacted by the Government of Rajasthan in 1987.
• It became an Act of the Parliament of India with the enactment of The Commission of Sati (Prevention) Act, 1987 in 1988.
• The Act seeks to prevent Sati, the voluntary or forced burning or burying alive of a widow, and to prohibit glorification of this action through the observance of any ceremony, participation in any procession, creation of financial trust, construction of a temple, or any actions to commemorate or honor the memory of a widow who committed Sati.

Additional Information

• Sati was first banned under Bengal Sati Regulation, 1829.
• Bengal Sati Regulation, 1829 is also known as Regulation XVII.
• This Regulation XVII or Prohibition of Sati was passed by Lord William Bentinck.
