Question Discussion & Solution

The correct answer is connective.

• Blood is a type of connective tissue.

Key Points

• Connective tissue
  • This is a kind of biological tissue that supports, connects, or separates different types of tissues and organs of the body.
  • Examples- Tendons, ligaments, cartilage, bone, blood.
• Blood has a fluid (liquid) matrix called plasma, in which red blood corpuscles (RBCs), white blood corpuscles (WBCs), and platelets are suspended.
  • The plasma contains proteins, salts, and hormones.
  • Blood flows and transports gases, digested food, hormones, and waste materials to different parts of the body.

Additional Information

• Epithelial tissue:
  • The epithelial tissues are formed by cells that cover the organ surface such as the surface of the skin, the airways, the reproductive tract, and the inner lining of the digestive tract.
• Muscular tissues:
  • Muscular tissue is a soft tissue that composes muscles.
  • Skeletal muscle (voluntary muscles), cardiac muscle (involuntary muscles) are examples of it.
• Nervous tissue:
  • The main components of the nervous system are the brain, spinal cord, and nerves which regulate and control body functions.
  • It is made up of neurons that have important functions in the nervous system.

As, ‘moon’ is a ‘satellite’ similarly, ‘earth’ is a ‘planet’.

The correct answer is Wheat.

Key Points

Concept-

• A wide range of fungal, bacterial, and viral pathogens, affect the yield of cultivated crop species, especially in tropical climates.
• Crop losses can often be significant, up to 20-30 per cent, or sometimes even total.
• In this situation, the breeding and development of cultivars resistant to disease enhance food production.
• This also helps reduce the dependence on the use of fungicides and bacteriocides.

Explanation-

• Resistance of the host plant is the ability to prevent the pathogen from causing disease and is determined by the genetic constitution of the host plant.
• Before breeding is undertaken, it is important to know about the causative organism and the mode of transmission.
• Some of the diseases caused by-
  • Fungi are rusts, e.g., brown rust of wheat, red rot of sugarcane, and late blight of potato.
  • Bacteria – black rot of crucifers.
  • Viruses – tobacco mosaic, turnip mosaic, etc.
• Brown rust of wheat is caused by the fungus Puccinia triticina.

Therefore the brown rust is the disease of wheat.

Additional Information

• Red rot is the disease of sugarcane.
• Late blight is the disease of potatoes.
• Mosaic virus is the disease of turnip.

The logic is,

In the first image, there are six lines in the first column and there is a four-sided figure in the second column.

In the second image, there are eight lines in the first column and there is a six-sided figure in the second column.

So, it means that the number of sides of a figure in the second column is decreasing by two from the number of lines in the first column.

Since, in third image there are five lines so the answer figure must be a three-sided figure.

Thus, the correct figure is as follows:
