Question Discussion & Solution

the correct answer is MS-DOS.

MS-DOS is not a GUI-based operating system

Key Points

• MS-DOS is a text-based operating system, meaning that a user works with a keyboard to input data and receives output in plain text. Later, MS-DOS often had programs using a mouse and graphics to make work more simple and quick.
• MS-DOS is a non-graphical command line operating system derived from 86-DOS that was created for IBM-compatible computers.
• MS-DOS allows the user to navigate, open, and otherwise manipulate files on their computer from a command line instead of a GUI like Windows.

Important Points

• Some popular, modern graphical user interface examples include:
  • Microsoft Windows,
  • macOS, Ubuntu Unity,
  • GNOME Shell for desktop environments, and
  • Android,
  • Apple's iOS,
  • BlackBerry OS,
  • Windows 10 Mobile,
  • Palm OS-WebOS, and
  • Firefox OS for smartphones.

Additional Information

• Graphical User Interface (GUI)
  • The graphical user interface is used by the most commercially popular computer operating systems
  • A Graphical User Interface (GUI) allows you to enter commands by pointing and clicking at objects that appear on the screen.
  • It consists of picture-like items (icons and arrows for example).
  • In most operating systems, the primary user interface is graphical.

Hence, he is moving in north direction now.

Pointers:

• Pointers in C language is a variable that stores/points to the address of another variable.
• A Pointer in C is used to allocate memory dynamically i.e. at run time.
• The pointer variable might belong to any of the data types such as int, float, char, double, short, etc.

Operators in pointers:

• * and & are the operators used in pointers.
• * gives us the value stored at a particular address whereas “ & “ gives us the address of the variable.

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. Character, Field, Record, File, Database.

Additional Information

• A character is any letter, number, space, punctuation mark, or symbol that can be typed on a computer.
• The word "computer," for example, consists of eight characters.
• The term "fields" refers to columns or vertical categories of data.
• A record is composed of fields and contains all the data about one particular person,
• A file is the common storage unit in a computer, and all programs and data are "written" into a file and "read" from a file.
• A database is an organized collection of structured information, or data, typically stored electronically in a computer system.
• A database is usually controlled by a database management system (DBMS).

The correct answer is about 70% water.

Important Points

• The Top Four Elements Found in the Human Body: oxygen (65%), carbon (18.5%), hydrogen (9.5%), nitrogen (3.2%).
• The other trace elements (less than 0.01%) are boron (B), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), fluorine (F), iodine (I), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), selenium (Se), silicon (Si), tin (Sn), vanadium (V), and zinc (Zn).
• The six major nutrients are carbohydrates (CHO), lipids (fats), proteins, vitamins, minerals, water.
• The functions of water in the human body:
  • Water carries nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body.
  • Water is required for breathing.
  • Water regulates your body temperature.
  • Water protects and cushions vital organs.
  • Water cushions joints.
  • Water removes waste.

Key Points

• Calcium (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the body and is essential for a number of vital functions.
  • Also helps muscles relax and contract, important in nerve functioning, blood clotting, blood pressure regulation, immune system health.
• Iron (Fe), Part of a molecule (haemoglobin) found in red blood cells that carries oxygen in the body, needed for energy metabolism.
• Iodine found in thyroid hormone, which helps regulate growth, development, and metabolism.
• Chromium works closely with insulin to regulate blood sugar (glucose) levels.
